CAD Brief

Stuff i did for college, the brief was based on CAD/CAM.

Series of drawings i have been working on, both for projects and own enjoyment.

Title drawn by hand and scanned into photoshop, then blemishes were erased by using colour picker tool and fill tool to create a cleaner image. I also edited the contrast to get a clearer and bolder style.Simple line image of which was scanned into photoshop. i then scanned in another watercolour image which i had previously created. using the magic eraser tool, i erased the section of the drawing of which i wanted the underneath layer to show through. this then created a pattern on the garment of the figure. the hair is a scanned in image of my own hair, and i once again used the magic eraser to delete the sections of which i wanted it to show through. after i had deleted the desired areas, i placed the layers into the correct positions and flattened the image.
This image followed the same process as the above.

Page taken from sketchbook. i had coloured the image using watercolours, but after scanning into photoshop i used the smuge tool in order to make the hair seem more liquid and realistic. i then also used a shape from a garment to place over the model.
Simple line drawing which i then scanned into photoshop. i filled the image with colours first, then using the airbrush tool i created darker areas for shading.
As above.

collective thoughts
This is a section of a sketchbook cover which i scanned in. I intended to use it for my blog header, and in order to do so i needed to edit the pixel dimensions.

PHOTO EDITING & IMAGE MANIPULATION

image manipulation using d-slr canon 500d
adjusted apeture setting, also adjusted contrast on photoshop to make image more bold.

These are a series of 5 photographs of which i took of my own hand in 5 different positions. in photoshop, i edited the opacity of each layer, to make the hand appear as though it's movement had been captured. I think it looks as though it is waving, which is a quite a snazzy effect.

Original image taken by me using a digital camera. edited contrast.
Using 'Underpainting' filter on photoshop.

Copied and flipped image, then adjusted opacity of layer 1 to reveal the bottom layer.

This is an image of myself. i scanned in my face in order to make it look as though i was drowning. then in photoshop, i edited the lightness and contrast to give a more realistic look to the picture.

Original photo taken by myself of floating fabric.

I then used the 'plastic wrap' filter on photoshop.

MOOD BOARD

This is my mood board created for a current project. i used tools such as the colour picker and crop in order to create the final image. the colours at the top are picked from each of the circle images. i then edited the opacity of the images in order to be able to layer them but keep each part visible.

USING ILLUSTRATOR

Working drawing of mens tshirt done using adobe illustrator.

Fashion figure based on previous template. using brush 2 to create texture on garment and hair.

I've never wanted summer so bad.

Deadlines are the scariest thing.

But do you ever find that you get so scared and worried about something that you just keep putting it off or running away from it? That's what i do. And it sucks.

I wish i had more motivation, everythings such a task wahhhhhhhwahhhhhhhhhhh :'( (crying noise)

I need to find a direction to take this blog in... maybe a weekly therapy session for my stress levels.

I'm going to write a book about a bear, a big grizzly one i think.

Tuesday 6 April 2010

I should really start doing college work instead of doodling hairy girls. I know what you're thinking, filthy minded person. Not as disgusting as it sounds. Actually theres a good chance that nobody will read this so that was a pointless comment.
I could pretty much write what the hell i wanted on this thing. HMMMMMMMMMMMM.
It's such a shame i have no compelling or controversial thoughts at this moment in time. Big fail on my behalf.
I am such an web based documentation participant let down.

buh bye x

i'm alive

So as i lay here in my cosy single bed, fashioning my rather pre adolescent pyjamas, i remembered how much of a fail i am when it comes to actually blogging.

My massively spaced out posts are definately not good enough to fill the raging appetite of the non existant follower (actually i have one follower, my boyfriend. So Poppaularrrr)

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz so tired.

Seeing as though it is 23:49 as i write this sentence,

I am going to cut this post short, and think of it as proof of my existance rather than a mind blowingly amazing online documentation.

Night night sleep tight!

2nd Post

To be honest, all i can think of to write here is how mind blowingly awful my day has been.

After putting all my efforts into planning on being productive, somehow i failed miserably. The LCF MA_10 show write up has taken me the best part of 4 hours, and im still only on 250 words. It's pretty amazing really, how i can manage to over analyse something i have written myself only 2 minutes earlier. Self criticism is definately not one of my charms. But i can't yet decide if its going to be my self criticism that leads me to success? After all, questioning your every semi colon or comma can't exactly be a bad thing can it? But as per, i do tend to take it too far and have been told on numerous occasions to 'not take stuff to heart'.

Anyway, i digress. (that was like a week ago, i got sidetracked and drafted it)

Shock of my week = Alexander McQueen.

Gobsmacked.

What an awful loss of a unique talent. Of course Alexander McQueen will live on but without Lee McQueen will it have it's signature flair and undeniable one of a kind auora?

I'm not one to get upset over celebrity deaths etc, but when it is such an amazing and inspirational person its hard not to feel genuinely gutted.

I kind of get the impression that he was a totured soul, as is the case with most 'creatives', and i just think this makes it all the more sad.

I love this, he just looks so cute.

RIP McQueen, definately will be missed.

So as my brain is pretty frazzled for the day, i thought it was appropriate (and easy) to talk about myself for my first post?

Being at college all day hasn't exactly filled me with exciting thoughts to document..

I'm too small, about 4ft11" .Im a natural red head but it seems to be fading as i age (much to my annoyance).I'm pale with a pretty good collection of freckles.I like writing, its cool.I study fashion at college, its not as cool as it sounds. However it would be minus the workload and deadlines. I have a cool boyfriend who also studies fashion at college and probably thinks its less cool than i do. I like clothes, but i like other peoples clothes more. I like cool people that catch my eye. I also like having an opinion, and love proving myself right. But doesn't everybody?

Anyway, enough for now.
I'm having the regular "to bed or not to bed debate with myself". Numbing my mind with catch up TV is sounding pretty appealing, but a wake up call of 6:30 AM is somewhat changing my mind. And by the looks of this, i'm no Tavi Gevinson.
